LEARN HOW TO READ LIKE A WRITER

No writer can become successful without first being a reader.

Reading is the building block: it shows you what great writing can do. In this class we will look at examples of rhythm, metaphor, word-choice, dialogue, opening lines, closing lines, imagery and more.

We will learn about the tools writers use to keep readers turning the page and how writers can make their words sing. We will read across genre and time.By learning how to read like a writer, you will understand how to experiment and engage with your work with a fresh pair of eyes.

The workshop will be four hours long, spread over two days. There will be reading and writing assignments which will be discussed in class.
