An Immersive Weekend Course
With Pragya Bhagat
I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings by Maya Angelou: A vulnerable, glorious coming-of-age story about words, resilience, and trauma.
Black Boy by Richard Wright: There’s something magical in reading a story from the eyes of a child. This book is a masterclass in details.
The Year of Magical Thinking by Joan Didion: She made the memoir cool again. Didion takes trauma and turns it into something both honest and engaging.
This two week class will focus on how to weave depth and connection into our memoirs. We will talk about what it takes to write a memoir. We will dissect the work of master memoirists, give each other rigorous feedback, and foster a writing community that will continue to support us long after the course is done.
At the end of the course, you will emerge more informed, more curious, and more confident to bring your writing into the world.
